Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Government has been urged to support local artists in terms of buying their artworks as souvenirs.

State veteran artist Awang Abdul Hamid said it is time for the government to pay serious attention to the artworks produced by local artists so they can earn a decent income.

“The government can use our artworks to promote the State’s tourism, where our paintings can be displayed in the hotels for visitors to see or to be given away to visiting guests,” he said during the launch of a five-day charity arts exhibition at Centre Point Sabah (CPS), here, last Monday.
