KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah DAP womens wing has called for a full investigation into the recent human trafficking case in Keningau involving four girls, including a minor.

Its chief, Bronica Sikula, said while police acted swiftly to rescue the victims, detaining an 18-year-old girl should not be seen as the end of the case.

She stressed the need to identify and prosecute the masterminds, syndicates and buyers involved.

Bronica further urged the authorities to provide trauma support, long-term protection, education and social rehabilitation for the victims, saying that rescuing them alone was not enough if their lives remained shattered.

She described the case as evidence that human trafficking is rampant in Sabah, driven by demand and profit, and vowed that DAP Wanita would not stay silent.
