BYD is gearing up to officially launch its new flagship electric executive saloon, the BYD Da Han EV, in China on October 13, 2026.
BYD is expanding their lineup in China with a new flagship sedan. Slotting above the existing Han series at the peak of the brand’s Dynasty model lineup, the Da Han enters the market with serious technical benchmarks. Headlining its credentials is an aerodynamic drag coefficient of just 0.197 Cd, placing it among the most aerodynamically slippery production sedans in the world and comfortably eclipsing conventional luxury grand tourers. For context, the Lucid Air currently holds the record at 0.197 Cd too.

Pre-sales for the Da Han opened in August with indicative pricing between RMB 249,900 and RMB 299,900 (roughly RM152,000 to RM183,000), and BYD plans to commence initial customer handovers within two weeks of the formal launch event.
Aero Efficiency Meets Full-Size Executive Proportions
Achieving a 0.197 Cd drag coefficient is no small feat on a vehicle of the Da Han’s stature. Rather than adopting a compromised, teardrop bubble footprint, the saloon commands substantial road presence:
- Dimensions: Measures 5,256 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,510 mm in height, paired with an expansive 3,130 mm wheelbase.
- Aerodynamic Sculpting: Features a low-slung front hood, semi-hidden aerodynamic door handles, flush glass integration, and active front air shutters that keep drag to an absolute minimum.
- Low Energy Burn: In its single-motor aerodynamic configuration, the vehicle achieves an official electricity consumption rating of just 11.5 kWh per 100 km, a remarkably low figure for a five-metre luxury cruiser.

Powertrains: Up to 1,008 km Range and 764 HP All-Wheel Drive
All electric variants of the Da Han are equipped with BYD’s second-generation 102.3 kWh Blade Battery, utilizing proven lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry for safety, durability, and sustained discharge stability:
- RWD Variants (1008km Premium & Flagship): Driven by a single rear-mounted electric motor delivering 370 kW (496 hp) and 500 Nm of torque. This powertrain hits 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and delivers an official CLTC cruising range of up to 1,008 km (roughly 820 km on the WLTP cycle).
- AWD Flagship (880km): Adds a secondary motor to the front axle for a combined output of 570 kW (764 hp) and 910 Nm of torque. This sprint-focused dual-motor setup hits 100 km/h from rest in just 3.3 seconds, while still achieving up to 880 km of CLTC range.
Charging performance takes full advantage of high-output architecture, enabling top-ups from 10% to 97% state-of-charge in as little as nine minutes on compatible ultra-fast DC infrastructure.

Standard DiSus-A Air Suspension and Rear-Wheel Steering
To make a 5.2-metre chassis feel nimble around congested city streets, BYD equips every Da Han trim with active rear-wheel steering as standard equipment. The system shrinks the vehicle’s turning circle down to a remarkably tight 4.95-metre radius, allowing executive saloon owners to negotiate tight multi-story parking structures and U-turns like a compact car.

Ride composure is governed by BYD’s dual-chamber DiSus-A intelligent air suspension, which continuously monitors road irregularities to vary damping and ride height on the fly.
On the driver-assistance front, the Da Han debuts the brand’s God’s Eye 5.0 (DiPilot) system. Utilizing a roof-mounted LiDAR pod and a high-density sensor suite, the platform delivers Level 2+ Urban Navigation on Autopilot (Urban NOA), high-speed highway piloting, and automated valet parking out of the box.
Executive Lounge Cabin and High-End Tech
Inside, the Da Han leans heavily into high-grade craftsmanship and computing power. The dashboard is anchored by a floating 17.3-inch 3K central touchscreen running the updated DiLink 300 operating system, powered by BYD’s native DiDiXia conversational AI voice assistant.
Cabin appointments rival traditional six-figure European executive limousines, incorporating open-pore genuine wood trim, supple Nappa leather upholstery, zero-gravity front passenger seating, an active fragrance diffuser, and electrochromic privacy rear glass that adjusts transparency at the press of a button.

Audiophiles are treated to a flagship 7.1.4-channel Devialet sound system utilizing 31 speakers, delivering immersive spatial audio throughout the elongated cabin.
With final retail pricing and market delivery timelines set to be locked in on October 13, the Da Han EV represents BYD’s most determined push yet into the upper echelons of the executive electric saloon segment.
