Celebrations abound as Sime Darby Motors marks the first anniversary of BYD's presence in Malaysia with the grand launch of the exclusive BYD Atto 3 Anniversary Limited Edition. This Limited Edition variant, derived from the esteemed BYD Atto 3 Extended Range model, boasts eight distinct visual enhancements, presenting a more commanding and assertive aesthetic with its blacked-out body kits.
Priced at an official tag of RM173,800, this exclusive electric SUV is a collector's dream, limited to just 500 units. Embracing elegance and style, the Limited Edition is available in two sophisticated color options - the chic Boulder Grey and the pristine Ski White.
In essence, the additional cosmetic upgrades come at a premium of RM6,000 compared to the standard range, which is priced at RM149,800, and the Extended Range model at RM167,800.
So, what sets the BYD Atto 3 Anniversary Limited Edition apart?
The Anniversary Limited Edition amplifies its allure with a front bumper lip, rear diffuser, side-step panel, and a rear spoiler. Enhancing its exclusivity, it introduces blacked-out elements such as the striking "C-shaped" front bumper panels, black side mirror cover, "dechrome" window panel, and a sleek blacked-out C Pillar Panel.
While these exterior alterations add flair, the interior remains unaltered. The Limited Edition retains its ride on the familiar 18" wheels shrouded in 215/55 Atlas Batman tires.

Enthusiasts and curious minds can experience the BYD Atto 3 Anniversary Limited Edition firsthand at the celebratory event marking BYD's milestone anniversary at the Bukit Kiara Indoor Arena. The event runs until Sunday, December 10th, 2023, from 9 am to 6 pm. Excitingly, placing a booking for an EV during this period garners additional benefits from BYD, including rebates of up to RM8,000 and a complimentary wallbox charger. For those unable to install a home charger, alternative options like service packages or charging credits are available.
Attendees can also catch a glimpse of the upcoming BYD Seal expected to hit the markets in early 2024.
Delving into the specifics, the BYD Atto 3 stands tall as a fully electric SUV, powered by a single motor delivering 201hp and 310Nm of torque to the front wheels. Accelerating from 0-100km/h in a brisk 7.3 seconds, it even boasts a built-in acceleration timer. Sizing up between a Proton X50 and the Proton X70, it offers a commendable 440-litre boot capacity.
The standard range model houses a 49.9kWh battery, boasting a WLTP-rated range of 345km on a single charge. Conversely, the extended range model features a larger 60.5kWh battery, extending the WLTP-rated range to 420km. Supporting DC fast charging up to 80kW, BYD claims an impressive 0-80% charge in just 45 minutes.
However, on the AC charging front, the EV is equipped with a single-phase 7kW onboard charger, demanding over 9 hours for a full charge on the extended-range model. As previously discussed, accessing a single-phase 7kW or a triple-phase 22kW AC charge point is imperative to leverage the maximum AC charging potential for the Atto 3.
