Manchester City have expressed interest in Espanyol defender Mario Hermoso.
City still need to find a replacement for Vincent Kompany, who left at the end of last season to become player-manager of Anderlecht.
And they are turning to Hermoso as an alternative to Leicester City stopper Harry Maguire.
With the Foxes demanding 100m to sell Maguire, City are now seeking alternatives which has led them to Hermoso, whose buyout clause is set at 40m.
Atletico Madrid are also interested in the former Real Madrid defender.
