MANILA, Philippines — The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) assisted passengers stranded at Siargao Airport on March 9, 2026 after bad weather forced multiple flight cancellations.
At least 25 travelers were accommodated overnight at the airport's Pre-Departure Area.
According to CAAP, the cancelled flights were attributed to unfavorable weather conditions associated with a low-pressure area (LPA) affecting parts of Mindanao, compounded by the prevailing Northeast Monsoon.
