THE Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) broke ground on a P382.96 million, six-story executive building on Monday.
Located within the CAAP Central Office complex on Old MIA Road in Pasay City, the modern facility was designed to serve as the agency’s executive hub and meet the rising demands of the aviation sector.
The building will expand office capacity and improve inter-office coordination, fostering a more efficient and productive working environment for employees.
"These initiatives reflect one clear direction: a CAAP that is safer, greener, and truly future-ready," said CAAP Director General Raul del Rosario.
The regulator also inaugurated a sewage treatment plant (STP) within the same compound.
The facility utilizes integrated fixed-film activated sludge (IFAS) technology — the first of its kind in a Philippine government aviation facility — and is capable of treating up to 260 cubic meters of wastewater daily.
The CAAP added that eight newly acquired Oshkosh aircraft rescue and firefighting units have been deployed to domestic airports under its jurisdiction.
The units were distributed to airports in Laoag, Puerto Princesa, Butuan, Siargao, Busuanga, Bicol, General Santos and Tacloban.
