Cabinet unveils Tabung Haji RCI report as enforcement probes into possible breaches proceed

THE Cabinet has agreed to declassify and make public the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report into Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH), which examined the institution’s management and operations from 2014 to 2020.

Government spokesperson Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said the Cabinet was briefed by TH’s senior management and had carefully reviewed the findings of the RCI report.

In a statement on Wednesday, Fahmi said the report would be released today and would also be tabled and debated during a special sitting of the Dewan Rakyat in the near future.

The Cabinet noted that the report contained 25 recommendations for improvement, with TH’s senior management having successfully implemented 75 per cent of the proposed measures.

The Cabinet also took note that TH had announced a profit distribution rate of 3.5 per cent for the 2025 financial year, which indicated that the institution’s management was now in a stronger position.

Fahmi said the Cabinet had decided that comprehensive investigations by relevant enforcement agencies based on the RCI report would continue immediately.

He added that parties found to have committed any violations of the law would be brought before the courts. - July 29, 2026
