KOTA KINABALU: A cable theft has caused a power outage affecting Intan Sabah Campus, Telipok, and surrounding areas on Sunday, Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (Sabah Electricity) confirmed.

The incident, involving an attempted underground cable theft on a 33kV line linking PPU Kibing to PPU Manggatal, led to major damage and disrupted supply from midday.

Technical teams were deployed immediately to carry out overnight repair works, supported by five mobile generators supplying power to affected areas.
