This will help accelerate the signal processing capability in Aeva’s 4D LiDAR systems, allowing it to simultaneously detect velocity and position for autonomous devices and automated industrial equipment to make more informed decisions.

Cadence’s Tensilica Vision DSPs offer a combination of programmability and low power to give Aeva the flexibility needed to customize the lidar processing pipeline. The architecture is ideal for real-time signal processing where efficiency and low latency are crucial, thanks to its customizable Tensilica Instruction Extension (TIE) language.

The IP is supported by industry-leading software libraries optimized for complex tasks like neural networks, computer vision, Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), radar, and point cloud processing. Furthermore, Tensilica DSPs include the NeuroWeave SDK, a third-generation neural network compiler designed for the evolving AI needs of the lidar segment.

This partnership allows Aeva to accelerate its innovation and bring advanced sensing capabilities to market for physical AI applications.
