Cagliari coach Claudio Ranieri has paid tribute to Carlo Mazzone.
Italian coaching great Mazzone passed away last weekend.
Ranieri said: "He was a teacher for everyone. He made me captain when I played, I had made my way abroad and then I also climbed the steps of the Olimpico.
"Mazzone was grumpy, but he had a heart of gold.
"I can't feel up to him, he was a father to everyone: maybe I'm an older brother to my players, I hope so... I always try to give the right information about sporting life."
