Kota Kinabalu: Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick proposed that the State Government include allocations for the development of cooperatives in its budgets.
“I have proposed that the State Government can also have its own budget initiative to supplement the Ministry’s efforts, through the Malaysian Cooperative Commission (SKM), to assist the cooperative movement in Sabah,” he said.
He said he had informed Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor of various state governments that have allocated funds for cooperative development as part of their respective state government budget initiatives, citing Melaka, Pahang and Johor.
