TAMBUNAN: Those who come instances of child abuse should immediately call Talian Kasih 15999 or via WhatsApp 019-2615999 or get the nearest help instead of making video and posting it on social media, said Deputy Chief Minister 1, Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan.

The Tambunan Assemblyman also advised students who need help, especially if that they feel unsure and do not dare, that they should not feel ashamed or afraid to ask for help by calling 15999.

He said every child is protected under the law and entitled to the rights of children are the right to life, protection, development and participation.

“If any of these four rights are not granted or taken care of, children have the right to speak up and ask for help from adults such as parents, teachers or neighbors,” he said when launching the Child Protection Advocacy Program: Love Children 2024 at SK Sunsuron and SJKC Yuh Min here recently.

Present were the Deputy Director of the Sabah State Social Welfare Department, Roshayati Omar, District Officer, Sobitun Makajil, Keningau District Police Chief, Supt Yumpil Anak Garai, Deputy Tambunan District Education Officer (Pupil Development Sector), Apponius Jimmy, Tambunan Community Development Leader, Alexsius Kiob, SK Sunsuron Headmaster, Cyril Francis, SJKC Yuh Min Headmistress, Chong Ai Ling @ Tracy Chong and other government officials, teachers and community leaders.
