Kota Kinabalu:If Sabah entrepreneur Peter Chua has his way, EV bikes will be criss-crossing Sabah’s roads.

“I told Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji that I can create 5,000 micro-entrepreneurs starting in his constituency in Tuaran, if the State Government can get JPJ to approve the operation of these EV bikes in Sabah,” said Chua, when met at his booth at the Sabah International Expo 2023.

At the moment families with children take photographs riding on stationary electric motorcycles and carriages of Chua’s China made EV display units.

“I have received more than a thousand interested enquiries, including from a Filipino delegate, who wanted me to go to Zamboanga to promote these EV bikes and carriages, suitable for carrying goods, for fishmongers, food peddlers, hawkers, etc, to do business, with a very affordable investment,” he said.

Chua said he also got the Chief Minister interested in setting up a modern bus station with amenities like ATM machines.

“They can be installed in Tuaran first to add value for the community there, besides a modern electronic parking payment system for the city here to replace the coupon system.”
