BEAUFORT: The Beaufort District Council and Veterinary Department are urged to catch stray dogs roaming Beaufort Sentral, with residents fearing they could spread rabies and endanger the public.
Visitor Sadariah Syafikah said her child was nearly bitten by a stray at 10.30am last Monday.
“While I was keeping an umbrella in the car, a stray dog tried to bite my child. He panicked and jumped from the shop stairs, thankfully he was not injured,” she said.
She added that staff confirmed the dog was a stray often seen in the areaResidents want the authorities to take immediate action as strays are also frequently spotted in the area.
