BEAUFORT: Halogelat residents are urging the Railway Department to increase the number of carriages on the daily train service, as overcrowding has become a persistent issue.
A passenger raised concern over the limited number of carriages, with only one carriage now in service, compared to previously when more were provided.
The overcrowding has forced many passengers, including the elderly and students, to stand along the journey to Beaufort town. The train which departs from Beaufort at 5am typically reaches Halogelat around 6am.
“However, for the past week, the Railway Department has been running only one carriage, causing significant discomfort for passengers.
