Bobbey Suan also urged the Federal Government to elevate the Nabawan District Health Clinic to the status of a hospital as a priority.
He said the upgrade is consistent with Nabawan’s status as a district and Pagalungan’s status as a sub-district bordering Kalimantan, Indonesia.
“Other government bodies and agencies will also be created such as the construction of a new police station, General Operations Force brigade, the development of an Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) and the road upgrade from Pagalungan to Pensiangan which will undoubtedly also increase the population and patients,” he said.
This is in addition to the rapid expansion and thriving economic activities surrounding Indonesia’s new capital, Nusantara.
“With the existence of a district hospital, residents in Pensiangan and nearby areas will have the opportunity to a complete health facility without having to travel to Keningau Hospital or Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kota Kinabalu for treatment or follow up medical review,” he said, adding that this will also reduce the burden of patients.
