THE Cambodian Ministry of Defence has confirmed that civilian fatalities from recent Thai military attacks have risen to nine, including an infant, as the border conflict continues to escalate.
Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, ministry spokesperson, stated that ongoing use of force by Thailand has resulted in significant destruction and loss of life, with 46 additional civilians injured as of 10 December 2025.
Cambodia has urged the international community to condemn Thailand for repeated violations of the Joint Peace Declaration Agreement between the two nations, describing the actions as tantamount to war crimes.
“Cambodia demands that Thailand be held fully accountable for these grave breaches,” Socheata said.
The spokesperson further called on Thailand to immediately cease all hostilities, withdraw its troops from sovereign Cambodian territory, and refrain from actions that could threaten regional security and stability.
Cambodia has also stressed that Thailand must fully comply with the ceasefire, the Joint Declaration, and all obligations under international law to ensure the protection of civilians and maintain border peace.
These statements reflect Cambodia’s intensifying appeal for global attention and intervention as tensions along the Thailand-Cambodia border continue to jeopardise civilian safety and regional stability. - December 11, 2025
