Cameron Highland's Vegetable Seller Gets Into An Altercation & Gets Attacked By Foreigners

An employee at a vegetable stall in Brinchang here was injured after being attacked by three Bangladeshi men using a lid from a used ice container last Saturday.

Cameron Highlands District Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent Azri Ramli, stated that the incident occurred around 1:04 PM when a verbal altercation took place involving the victim, a 31-year-old man, and an unidentified Bangladeshi man who worked at a vegetable stall, triggered by a dispute over customers.

The victim was subsequently attacked by two other Bangladeshi men during the incident using the lid of a used ice container.

"All three Bangladeshi men attacked the complainant using the lid of a used ice container. The complainant suffered injuries to the right side of his forehead and general body pain," he said in a statement on Tuesday.

Azri clarified that the complainant received treatment at the Tanah Rata Hospital, and medical personnel confirmed that he had suffered injuries to his forehead and bruising on his back and chest.

"The first suspect has been arrested, and arrests of the second and third suspects will be conducted as soon as possible to complete the investigation," he added, mentioning that the case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code.

Meanwhile, the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) footage of the attack was uploaded by a user on Twitter on Thursday.
