Former Everton striker Kevin Campbell admits a lot has to change at the club this season.

The Goodison Park club have started this season as they finished last term.

While they avoided relegation narrowly, Everton still look as though they are one of the worst four or five teams in the Premier League.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Campbell stated of Sean Dyche's side: "I'll be honest with you, I think it [more signings] is vital.

"There are a few players Everton are trying to acquire, one particularly from Leeds," he said in subtle reference to Wilfried Gnonto. "I think that's three bids and it's still not happened, they're desperate to get him over the line and they've got to make things happen."

"That's all at the top end of the pitch - the type of people who make things happen. They are gold dust when you look at this Everton side, so Everton really have to knuckle down and get some signings over the line so they can push on.

"It's that important - even after two games."
