In days of yore the 3Rs were (R)eading. W(R)iting and A(R)ithmetic. I suspect they were more into phonetic than into correct spelling.
But the nation and their language grew. Maybe because their scholars went into proper education and top class lessons. Never accepted low crass students or teachers.
Then some countries began to think in terms of other 3Rs. Religion. Race. And Royalty. Like Sudan Yemen Algeria and other religion and ethnicity bigoted countries. And the countries went into conflicts. Into fights. Into chaos. And they broke up.
Up to today these 3Rs countries cannot gain unity or peace or progress. Once broken no way to heal.
I avoid talking about our 3Rs. I accept that you know better and you know all. It is in your domain whether you want to retain these 3Rs as the country's icon or you now wish to get a healthy happy progressive nation. One that we and the world can be proud of?
Let me give new Rs. Fresh Rs. And another route towards nation building never thought of previously. Nothing to stop you from getting more Rs.
The 3Rs: Rains. Rats. And the Rakyat.
Thanks to the Met Office and their instruments. We now can foretell where and when rains will fall. Torrential rains bringing in floods and watery chaos to districts and states in Malaya. Sabah and Sarawak. And the dangers rains pose to adults and children. To officials and students.
So first new R = Rains.
Rains can play havoc. Don't under estimate its power.
The current PM and His Majesty can decide on the date of the GE 15. And their decision will bind the constituencies. But the Rains will bind the country.
We cannot sing the song... "Rain rain go away. Come again another day. All Malaysians with voting rights want to pray!"
2nd R = Rats.
Instead of the frogs. We now label these baddies who jump from party to another as rats. Frogs are too nice a name. It is in the nature of frogs to jump or hop. But rats?
Rats are destructive pests and carriers of highly contagious diseases. When one changes party after election one clearly says he or she is no longer bound by probity or honesty.
Rats jump ships. Rats create unhealthy and unsavoury environment. Rats include the little Napoleons who are useless in their jobs at local. State and national levels. They cannot even arrange for proper parking lots. Some are so narrow. The drivers and passengers cannot exit or enter their vehicles. The garbage collectors leave dirt on the roads. And inspectors remain in office instead of doing their rounds. They are in fact redundant. Another bloat on our expenditure.
Let's give the 3Rs to rats. Royal Rout of all Rats. No more such despicable characters among our politicians. Ensure people we elect are obedient to us and not become masters to bully us. Ever.
And the third R is the Rakyat.
Yes dear readers. You form this huge and prominent number. But not many realise nor care to exercise your vital skills. And though the previous R was Royalty or Regina or Rabbi... Depends on where or who you are. But now we translate our third R into Rakyat.
The most powerful in any association or party or club or election... And our mak Ciks. Pak Ciks. Lebais. Workers and other employees.
This R is not the Ruffians or Rough fiends. This R is the reason the country must be properly organised. Correctly and in the best style and conditions that civilisation demands.
You still do not stop to think about how useful you are. You can change our country from the present troubled state to another of hope. Of goodness. Of greatness.
All by changing your leaders from the weaklings to those from sound environment of power... To rid our country of corruption and incompetence. To a fresh set where your leaders will be at your service and work for you. Where Parliament must and will protect you and all citizens and residents instead of misusing its power to enrich its members.
Are you ready for the three Rs? You have about two short and critical months to weild your power towards true nationhood.
Reasonable. Ready. And Real.
