- Tensions escalated even further on Monday as Trump threatened a 50 percent tariff on Canadian automobiles, auto parts, and steel starting next year and accused Canada of ripping off the U.S.
- Ford said Monday that Trump has miscalculated Canadians’ willingness to endure economic pain rather than give in to U.S. pressure, stating, "He underestimates Canada. We’re all in. Up here, we’re at a fever pitch, everyone’s in for an economic war. They know they’re going to have to sacrifice."
