Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan has prohibited election campaigning activities within a 100-metre radius of polling stations set up for the Mandi Municipal Corporation elections tomorrow. Polling would be held from 7 am to 3 pm. No individual or group would be allowed to seek votes, influence voters, campaign in favour of or against any candidate or encourage voters to abstain from voting within the restricted zone around polling stations. The district administration has also prohibited the display of any election-related posters, banners, notices or signboards at the polling stations and in the 100-metre radius.

The Deputy Commissioner said the restrictions had been imposed to ensure free, fair, and peaceful elections and maintain order around polling centres.

He warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found violating the prohibitory orders under the provisions of the Himachal Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act, 1994, and other applicable laws.

He appealed to all political parties, candidates and their supporters to strictly adhere to the guidelines and cooperate in maintaining the sanctity of the electoral process.
