The IMD has forecast a gradual rise of 2–3°C in maximum temperatures over the next six days. Thunderstorm activity and light rain are expected to continue intermittently during the week.
For Tuesday, the weather office has predicted a partly cloudy sky, with very light to light rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds of 40-50 kmph, and gusting up to 60 kmph during the afternoon or evening.
Similar weather conditions are predicted for Wednesday.
A yellow alert has been issued for June 4, with the IMD forecasting thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds. Light rain activity is also expected on June 5, while clearer skies are likely towards the weekend.
Meanwhile, Delhi’s air quality remained in the ‘moderate’ category, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 105.
The city’s peak power demand reached 6,208 MW at 3.37 pm on Monday, remaining relatively subdued amid the cooler weather conditions.
