Car wash owner shot dead by motorcycle gunmen in Nibong Tebal

A man in his 30s was killed after being shot multiple times outside his car wash business by two suspects on a motorcycle in Nibong Tebal.

NIBONG TEBAL: A man believed to be a car wash owner was shot dead by unknown assailants in front of his premises along Jalan Besar in Permatang Keling.

Penang deputy police chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said police received information about the incident at 10.40 pm last night.

The victim was a local man in his 30s who was shot several times in the body and legs.

Witnesses reported that the victim was approached by two men on a motorcycle before the pillion rider dismounted.

The suspect then approached the victim and fired several shots at close range.

The other suspect is believed to have remained on the motorcycle during the attack.

Both suspects were wearing dark clothing and helmets and used a semi-automatic firearm.

The seriously injured victim was taken to Taiping Hospital but was pronounced dead while receiving treatment.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Police say the motive for the killing is still under investigation.
