KUALA LUMPUR, August 4 — American rapper Cardi B was cleared of battery charges after a woman filed a police report for being hit by a thrown microphone.

On Saturday, the WAP rapper threw her microphone at a rogue concertgoer for splashing a drink at her onstage at a concert in Drai’s Beachclub, Las Vegas.

According to the woman’s report, the microphone struck the drink thrower and ricocheted off and hit her, making Cardi B a suspect of battery.

The incident, captured on video, has since gone viral on social media.

However, the Las Vegas police said that they have decided to not file any criminal charges due to ‘lack of evidence’.

“After a thorough review of this case and with the consultation from the Clark County District Attorney’s Office, this case has been closed as having insufficient evidence,” the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department told New York Post in a statement.

Other videos have surfaced online of the rapper encouraging the crowd to throw water at her before the incident happened.

Meanwhile, the microphone Cardi B threw is now being auctioned on eBay for charity, currently bidding at RM454,295 with 124 bidders.

The microphone is being sold by Scott Fisher who is the owner of the audio company in charge of the concert.

According to Fisher, all of the profits will be split into two charities: youth organisation Friendship Circle Las Vegas and army veteran recovery programme Wounded Warrior Project.
