Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman has emerged as a shock source regarding the Manchester United takeover process.
The club's owners, the Glazer family, announced that United would be seeking new investment in November 2022.
While a sale was not outright mentioned by official statements, the British press have indicated throughout that the family prefers to sell the club.
Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe are the two frontrunners for full control, but no preferred bidder has been named.
"I've been meeting a lot with US private equity funds and the valuation of football clubs is going through the roof. Americans are determined to come into this market quite heavily," Dalman explained to the BBC.
"I spoke to the owners of Leeds when we were there, and Championship clubs are valued at three times their revenue, give or take.
"Manchester United are going to announce their sale at 7.2 billion -7.3 billion, which is roughly 10 times their revenue.
"Two or three years ago, we might have been talking about selling Cardiff for about 20 million or 30 million, but now you're going to have to look at 90 million or 100 million. Valuations [of Championship clubs] have all stretched."
