A horrifying incident occurred at a childcare centre in Jalan Kampung Seronok Nosoob, Penampang, where a caregiver was caught on CCTV allegedly abusing a four-year-old boy.

The distressing footage, which has gone viral, shows the child being kicked, slapped, and hit with blunt objects repeatedly while he was eating.

The child's father, who chose to remain anonymous, expressed his heartbreak upon witnessing his son being subjected to such cruelty. He emphasized that no parent would ever want to see their child treated in such a manner. The father revealed that this was not the first incident of abuse involving his child. Two weeks prior, his wife noticed bruises on their son's hand after picking him up from the centre. Initially, the child claimed that the caregiver had caused the injuries, but later changed his story to say that it was his friends.

Despite this, the parents accepted the explanation and continued sending their child to the centre, until he started complaining of headaches. Recently, when the child was picked up from the centre, the mother noticed a lump on his head and instinctively rubbed it. To her shock, she discovered an injury on her child's head. Alarmed, the father confronted the centre, demanding an explanation. However, the centre failed to provide any satisfactory answers. Feeling frustrated, he insisted on reviewing the centre's CCTV footage, finding it disheartening that the centre had not taken their previous complaint seriously.

In light of these events, the couple decided to take action and filed a police report at the Tanjung Aru police station. They firmly believe that this appalling mistreatment of children must be stopped to prevent more innocent children from suffering. The incident has also traumatized the mother, especially as she is pregnant with their second child. They are now urging the authorities to take appropriate action against the childcare centre.

Currently, the child is undergoing medical treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (HQE) to determine the extent of his injuries. It is a distressing situation for the family, and they hope that justice will be served. This incident underscores the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of children in childcare facilities. Parents should remain vigilant and actively report any signs of abuse to protect their children from harm.
