
MIRI – A cargo ship has capsized near Pulau Burung off southern Sarawak, and its entire crew of nine people is missing.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said the vessel “Tung Sung” is believed to have capsized at around 2pm today
“A distress call was received at around 2pm via WhatsApp. The ship has nine crew members on board. There were four Malaysians, four Myanmar nationals, and one Indonesian.
“As of now, they are still missing and their fate still unclear,” said the department in a press statement this afternoon..
The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, marine police, and other agencies have begun a search-and-rescue mission.
