SHAH ALAM, April 5 — The state government welcomes contributions from various parties, whether from the private sector, corporations, or individuals, to assist victims of the fire in Putra Heights through the Caring Selangor Fund (Tabung Selangor Prihatin).

In a Facebook post, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the fund is an additional initiative alongside ongoing efforts to ease the burden on the victims.

Donations can be made via CIMB account number 8604747531 (Selangor State Treasurer), with the reference “Putra Heights”.

In the incident on Tuesday (April 1), a Petronas gas pipeline along Jalan Putra Harmoni, Putra Heights, caught fire, with flames soaring more than 30 metres high. It took nearly eight hours for the fire to be fully extinguished.

It affected 1,254 victims from 308 families, with 87 houses completely destroyed and rendered uninhabitable, while 148 houses were damaged but remain habitable.

The blaze also caused a crater to form at the site of the incident, measuring 9.8 metres deep and approximately 21 by 24 metres in size.
