Carol Vorderman has shared her tearful reaction to the Green Party's historic win in the Gorton and Denton by-election.

Following the election results on Friday, 27 February, the Green’s Hannah Spencer received 14,980 votes, while Reform UK's Matt Goodwin came second with 10,578, ousting Labour from a formerly safe seat.

Watching the vote count come through in the early hours of Friday morning, the media personality struggled to hold back tears as she praised the newly-elected MP's speech on "people who work hard deserving a good livelihood."

Ms Vorderman said, "Her speech started me crying, God it was beautiful."
