TAMBUNAN: Firefighters were called in to assist medical personnel after a piece of iron pierced an Indonesian carpenter’s foot here on Monday morning.
The Tambunan Fire and Rescue Station received an emergency call at 9.07am requesting assistance at the Tambunan Hospital emergency department, located two kilometres from the station.
According to a colleague, the incident occurred while the 34-year-old victim was carrying out carpentry work on a house before he was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
A team of four personnel arrived at 9.10am and used special equipment to cut and remove the embedded metal from the man’s foot.
The victim was subsequently handed over to Health Ministry medical staff for further treatment, and the operation concluded at 9.20am.
