Liverpool hero Jamie Carragher has questioned their deal for Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo.
Arthur has joined Liverpool on-loan to ease their midfield injury problems.
Carragher told Sky Sports: "I don't think Arthur is the answer Liverpool needed.
"We needed a younger and more energetic player. I think Arthur is right to fill a space and that's why Liverpool loaned him last night.
"The current midfielder they want (Jude Bellingham, Borussia Dortmund) is not available at the moment, so I think it makes sense to loan someone."
