Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s Covid-19 caseload spiked to 219 Wednesday from 151 the day earlier due to an increased positivity rate. One death was recorded in Kota Kinabalu.

Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the positivity rate increased to 9.62 per cent from 6.82 per cent the day earlier, despite a similar number of test samples.

There were 2,485 samples on Tuesday compared to 2,536 on Wednesday.

Kota Kinabalu topped the list with 44 cases, followed by Tuaran (27), Sandakan (26), Tawau (21), Papar (18), Kudat (14), Lahad Datu (14), Penampang (11) and Putatan (10).

“Eight districts did not record any new cases,” said Masidi in a statement, Tuesday.

He said 212 out of 219 cases were category one and two infections, while four were recorded in category three and three in category four.

No new clusters were identified.
