Taking to TikTok, this netizen shared how staff at this scarf shop stole hundreds last Ramadan in a CCTV video that went viral on the platform.
At the start of the video, a comment was posted about how a worker was placed in charge of the cashier instead of the business owner.
Wanting to explain the footage further, this business owner writes: “The customer wanted to purchase RM95 in cash. Handed the employee RM100, where she faked keyed in the value, but no receipt was produced.”
“If done correctly, a receipt would have been printed out. She then placed the money under the keyboard.”
“To further confuse the customer, she removed RM5 from the cash register and returned it to the customer,” said the netizen.
“But when the next client paid using her card, she could not repeat the same modus operandi as the one before.”
So, how did she take her money out?
According to the business owner, when all the other staff were busy with their iftar, she took out her money while pretending to look at receipts.
“From another angle, she covered her tracks by concealing her actions with a scarf to prevent them from getting captured on our CCTV. Shows just how much of a pro she is at this.”
“She then proceeded to an area without CCTV coverage and kept everything in her bag. She did not key in any cash transaction for almost four months and only did it when we were around,” explained the business owner.
In the comments section, it is understood that the personnel in question did it to help her mother who was not well. She decided to let her off, but she no longer works at her store.
