This kitten must have been born under a lucky star.

Mont Blanc, a nine-month-old cat, has had a very lucky escape. As reported by People magazine, the feline survived a 14-storey fall from an apartment balcony in Melbourne, Australia.

His owner, Tim, had left the balcony door slightly ajar before leaving for work. When he returned, he was horrified to discover that his cat had fallen and landed in a bush below.

A miraculous survival

Amazingly, after several examinations at the vet, the little daredevil was found to have only suffered a minor lung puncture.

"The ability to control its fall"

The cat owes its survival to "an instinctive ability to right itself as soon as it starts to fall, in an attempt to best control its descent," Kassandra Makeham from Lort Smith told 7News.
