Kota Kinabalu: Fathers must play a key role in the family by ensuring their children are not negatively influenced by gadgets, said Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Mustapha Sakmud.
He said the importance of family education should not be overlooked, particularly in areas such as academics, religion, moral development, and good character.

“That’s why it’s crucial for young fathers today to understand that they cannot simply delegate their children’s upbringing to technology.
“It is worrying to see a trend where children are raised solely through digital devices, without being exposed to religious teachings, moral education, or formal learning.
“If this continues, we risk raising a generation shaped only by information from gadgets, while we, as parents, fail to provide them with proper guidance,” he said.
