Cayetano ready to face corruption allegations

MANILA, Philippines — Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano on Monday said he was ready to face corruption allegations raised by Sen. Panfilo Lacson involving alleged ghost infrastructure projects in Taguig City.

During a media interview, Cayetano maintained that he has consistently exposed alleged irregularities, including questionable infrastructure projects.

"But what he said today—I don’t know where it came from. I’m not the secretary of the DPWH.

(Department of Public Works and Highways). I’m not a regional director. I’m not an engineer. But of course, I’m from Taguig, so as much as I can, I monitor these projects. That’s on the record," Cayetano said.

"We really have no choice but to face it. All we’re asking is that people see the bigger picture—that those who are conducting investigations or raising criticisms suddenly become the ones being investigated. We’re not backing away from any investigation, but no one should be singled out," he added.
