With the last batch’s 3600 application shortlisted only 20 people, the strong interest simply shows that there are a lot of youngsters that has the drive in them, but they need a platform and opportunity to get them rolling. As such, this year’s iteration has started with registration available from May 3 to July 3.

If selected, participants will rotate through one of five key areas – Cloud Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data and Business Analytics, Digital Product Development, and AI and Automation – working directly on real-world projects alongside experienced teams, which ties back to CelcomDigi’s broader transformation into a 5G- and AI-driven telco-tech company.

Chief HR Officer, Azmi Ujang, has pointed out that industries requires talent that are not only technically strong but also commercially aware and adaptable, and that’s exactly what YTP is trying to build – a pipeline of individuals who can actually drive meaningful impact across customers, businesses, and even the nation, while gaining real exposure to business challenges and transformation projects instead of just going through textbook-style training.

Zooming out a bit, the programme also sits under the company’s larger CD:NXT initiative, which is all about building a future-ready digital workforce in Malaysia.
