At the ASEAN AI Summit 2025 expo, CelcomDigi has pulled the curtain back on a whole lineup of AI-powered tools that their own digital team built from the ground up.
Right now, these solutions are already running internally to boost efficiency and improve customer experiences, but the bigger play is turning them into AI-as-a-Service (AIaaS) so that SMEs can get in on the action without burning through big budgets.
To start, there’s an AI digital assistant that handles routine tasks and helps employees get quick answers, an AI Business Case Assistant that whips up data-driven proposals with ROI breakdowns, plus an Instant Scope of Work generator that creates structured contracts in minutes.
On the customer side, they’ve got AI tools that tackle queries faster and improve satisfaction in contact centres. And then there’s something called the AI Mirror prototype, which is designed to strengthen team culture and engagement while keeping that human touch intact.
T. Kugan, CelcomDigi’s Chief Innovation Officer, explained that these projects aren’t just experiments but they’re actually making day-to-day operations smoother inside the company.
He added that the goal now is to adapt some of them into easy-to-deploy AIaaS offerings, especially for SMEs, so businesses can start using AI without heavy upfront investment. It’s also a reflection of how serious CelcomDigi is about shifting from a traditional telco into a telco-tech company, powered by its own digital talent.
The showcase didn’t stop there, though they also highlighted some futuristic projects from its AI Experience Centre, like HoloMedicine for mixed-reality surgical planning, telemedicine solutions to connect rural communities with specialists, and Malaysia’s first 5G AI-powered logistics automation system.
