Celta Vigo have announced the dismissal of coach Rafa Benitez.
Benitez has been shown the door after their 4-0 defeat at Real Madrid.
Claudio Girldez, coach of Celta B, is the favourite to succeed him this week.
Celta announced today:
"Rafa Bentez and his technical staff disassociate themselves from the Celtic RC after eight months of absolute dedication and full dedication, but in which the team has not obtained the expected results of the club.
"The club wants to express to Rafa Bentez and his assistants their most sincere thanks for the involvement, honesty and professionalism they showed since their arrival and the tireless work done. The Celtic RC also wants to wish you the best of luck and success in the future."
