
Kota Kinabalu: Cement Industries (Sabah) Sdn Bhd (Cis) continues to record a strong financial performance for the financial year 2025 by distributing a total dividend of RM40 million to its shareholders.
The dividend payment, worth tens of millions of ringgit, reflects the positive financial position achieved by the cement manufacturing company over the past year.
“This move also demonstrates Cis’ ongoing commitment to maintaining operational excellence, sustainable growth and good corporate governance practices,” said Cis General Manager Sumardi Mohd Yusof during the Dividend Handover Ceremony held here Wednesday.
The handover took place immediately after the conclusion of the company’s Board of Directors meeting at Hyatt Regency Hotel.
The event was also witnessed by Cis Chairman Datuk Japlin Akim, alongside other members of the company’s Board of Directors.
According to him, out of the total RM40 million distribution, the Sabah Economic Development Corporation (Sedco) was the largest recipient, with an allocation of RM19.9 million.
“In addition, another shareholder, Tasek Corporation Berhad, received a payout totalling RM12 million.
“The remaining dividend payout of RM7.9 million was handed over to the Sabah Ports Authority (SPA),” he said.
He added that for the financial year ending 2025, Cis successfully recorded a proud achievement with total sales revenues reaching RM541 million.
“From that total sales figure, the local company managed to achieve a profit before tax of RM81 million,” he said.
In a statement, Cis also noted that this exceptional performance highlights the company’s ability to maintain a sustainable financial position while facing various industry challenges.
The company expressed confidence that its solid financial foundation and clear strategic direction will continue to drive long-term growth, thereby enhancing its contribution to Sabah’s economic development.
Also present at the ceremony were Sedco Group General Manager Datuk AR James Wong Kein Peng, representatives from Tasek Corporation Berhad Stephen Ho Kiam Kong and Chen Fun Tee, and SPA General Manager Dollyn Aloysius.
