Kota Kinabalu: Centre Point Sabah Shopping Mall has received the Platinum Award under Category C at the Top Sustainability Practices Awards 2025–2026, organised by Malaysia Shopping Malls Association (PPK Malaysia), recognising the mall’s ongoing efforts to integrate environmental responsibility, operational innovation and community impact into its operations.
Competing in Category C for shopping malls with more than 1,000,000 sq ft of net lettable area, Centre Point Sabah was recognised for a combination of sustainability initiatives and its #CPCares community programmes.
The recognition reflects a sustainability approach built around practical, measurable initiatives, from renewable energy and greener mobility to operational technology and long-term community programmes.
A major milestone was the installation of Centre Point Sabah’s 929 kWp solar energy system in December 2024.
The solar installation is estimated to reduce more than 500 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, supporting the mall’s transition towards cleaner and more efficient energy consumption.
Centre Point Sabah has also expanded its support for greener mobility through the introduction of EV charging facilities in collaboration with JomCharge, providing greater accessibility to charging infrastructure as electric vehicle adoption continues to grow in Sabah.
