CENTURY Pacific Food Inc. said Wednesday that gradual operations had resumed at its General Santos City facilities following last week’s magnitude 7.8 earthquake.
In a disclosure, the company said the quake affected its tuna and coconut manufacturing facilities in General Santos, prompting an immediate suspension of operations as a precautionary measure.
Evacuation protocols were implemented during the incident, with all employees and personnel confirmed safe, it added.
Operations were again halted on June 9, a day after the earthquake, as the company continued structural safety assessments and inspections in the affected facilities.
Following initial safety evaluations, the company said it decided to partially resume operations, including logistics activities.
Full restoration is expected to be rolled out gradually over the next one to two weeks depending on the completion of further assessments and necessary repairs.
Century Pacific said it had mobilized response efforts on the ground, including relief assistance to communities and financial support for affected employees.
The company said its facilities and inventory were covered by insurance and that it had sufficient inventory across its nationwide distribution network to continue meeting demand.
It expects the disruption to be temporary, with limited impact on overall operations and financial condition based on current information.
Shares of Century Pacific slipped P0.25, or 0.83 percent, to close at P29.75 each on Wednesday.
