Chabbewal Assembly constituency has emerged as the first constituency in Hoshiarpur district to initiate the registration process under the Punjab Government’s ambitious “Mukh Mantri Mawan-Dhiaan Satkar Yojana”. The announcement was made by MLA Dr Ishank Kumar after reviewing the training and preparedness of ‘Mahila Sakhis’ across several villages in the constituency.
Dr Ishank Kumar said that extensive training sessions for women volunteers concluded on Sunday, while the registration process for eligible women beneficiaries will begin from May 12. He informed that the scheme is being implemented across Punjab under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal.
Under the scheme, eligible women from the general category will receive financial assistance of Rs 1,000 per month, while women belonging to the Scheduled Caste category will receive Rs 1,500 per month directly in their bank accounts.
The MLA stated that trained ‘Mahila Sakhis’ will carry out door-to-door registration to ensure that every eligible woman in the constituency benefits from the scheme. He added that Chabbewal has once again taken the lead in implementing a major welfare initiative due to the dedication and teamwork of party workers and local representatives.
Dr Ishank Kumar thanked block presidents, sarpanches, zila parishad and block samiti members, the Women’s Wing and MP Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal for their support and guidance in completing the training process ahead of schedule.
During the day, Dr Ishank Kumar visited villages including Bham, Chabbewal, Attowal, Bhagatupur, Jandoli and Mahilpur to review the training sessions and motivate volunteers.
