MANILA, Philippines — College basketball player Chad Gammad publicly criticized the spread of AI-generated photos showing him with other women, saying the viral posts crossed the line as they appeared to target his relationship courtside reporter Apple David.
Gammad took to Facebook to share screenshots of several AI-generated posts circulating online, many of which had garnered thousands of reactions and shares. Alongside the screenshots, he posted a brief message: "Have some self-respect, pleaseee."
The posts featured AI-generated images of Gammad with different women, accompanied by nearly identical captions mentioning their age and what they were currently doing. Several of the posts also appeared to reference or poke fun at his relationship with David, who is known for her work as a PBA and UAAP courtside reporter. The couple has been the subject of online discussion due to their more than a decade age difference.
Gammad's post drew mixed reactions from netizens. While many expressed support for the basketball player and criticized the use of AI-generated images to ridicule his personal life, others argued that the posts were intended as harmless humor.
Some netizens defended the couple, commenting, "They love each other. Age is just a number. As long as they love and respect each other, there's no problem."
Another user added, "Si Apple pa rin pinakamaganda, classy pa.(Apple is still the best—she's classy too.)
As of posting time, David has not publicly addressed the AI-generated content involving Gammad.
