Taking a serious note of some teachers creating nuisance and instigating others to abstain from performing Census-2027 duties, Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav has directed the charge officers to submit the names of teachers involved in misconduct and non-cooperation.

Such teachers will be issued show-cause notices, followed by disciplinary action as per rules, he said, while chairing a meeting to review the progress of work of Census house listing blocks (HLB) today.

Expressing serious concern and dissatisfaction over the slow pace of Census work, the Deputy Commissioner instructed all charge officers to ensure that work in each and every house listing block starts positively by May 7.

The Deputy Commissioner suggested that charge officers might seek support from local area councillors to mobilise residents for facilitate smooth data collection for Census-2027.

He categorically directed that no requests for exemption from Census duty based on certificate issued by Government Medical Board would be entertained under any circumstances as the Census process had already started.

The meeting concluded with a directive to ensure strict compliance with the timelines and responsibilities assigned.
