Kota Kinabalu: The City’s index crime rates saw a dip from 171 cases in January to only 72 in May this year after police here revised strategies.
Since taking over the helm of City police Chief in January 2021, ACP Mohd Zaidi Abdullah was wary of the 90 per cent increase in criminal activities within the vicinity.
“That was when we were taking the Ops Payung approach,” he explained on the revamped efforts dubbed “Operasi Bersepadu Cegah Jenayah” or integrated crime prevention operations, (OBCJ), early Sunday.
