Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Kadazandusun Murut welfare and education association has proposed that the designation of Sabah’s head of government be changed from “chief minister” to “premier”.
The association’s president, Newmond Tibin, suggested that the Sabah state government table the matter at the state assembly in March for discussion and scrutiny.
He said the association believed that the change would reflect the equal position of the two Borneo states as Sarawak has already changed the title to “premier”.
The change was made in February last year through an amendment to the Sarawak State Constitution.
