I replayed the timeline in my mind, each moment of delay haunting me. By 9:30 am, I had recognized the signs of stroke. By 10:00 am, I was in the hospital, a place where I had hoped to received swift intervention. Yet, the minutes dragged on, and by the time an MRI was finally conducted at 11:30 am, crucial time had slipped through my fingers.
Then, at 1:00pm the attending doctor finally appeared. By this point, the damage had been done. My body had paid the price for every passing minute of delay, and by 2:00 pm , the stroke's devastating effects had become irreversible. The frustration, anger, and disbelief surged within me. I had done everything I could to seek help in those critical hours, yet the system's inefficiencies had cost me dearly.
It was a mixture of emotions - anger at the system, grief for the loss of what was, and a fierce determination to ensure that others wouldn't suffer the same fate. I wanted the world to know the importance of the four golden hours and the urgency of swift action. It was a mission born out of my own experience, a mission that fueled my journey of recovery.
Seeking Solutions:
The frustration at Desa Park City Hospital slow response to my condition was palpable. Hours had passed, leaving me waiting for the medical attention that felt urgently needed. It was in that moment of waiting that the decision to seek an alternative arose. Tung Shin Hospital became the beacon of hope, a place where I believed I would find that attentive care I sought.
Taking matters into my own hands, I arranged my transfer to Tung Shin Hospital. The decision marked a turning point, a moment when I took control of my own recovery journey.
